My experience is that many CCMers usually work <I>harder</I> on getting rid of all vestiges of traditional music in their churches - than they do on their own music.<BR/><BR/>Maybe that's why it sounds so dumbed down.<BR/><BR/>Much of the CCM done in my church is difficult to sing as a congregation because the singers on stage are ad-libbing and "doing their own thing." I don't know about you, but I <I>can't read minds</I> - but I <I>can</I> read music. So having a hymnal would sure help.<BR/><BR/>Sadly, many churches have lost the rich heritage found in hymns, oratorios, and the like.
