With all of the different mobile phone choices out there, things can become confusing. There's phones out there that play music, send email, recognize handwriting, and even have GPS functions. But all of those different phones out there are nothing but plots to confuse and deceive people into getting a phone that's not really a phone at all.
So why spend all that money on some new fancy phone, when the perfect phone was already built. Ten years ago Nokia invented the 1611 model, and it has proved to be the most faithful and most reliable mobile phone ever built. While other phones had preceded it, the Nokia 1611 was the seventh stylistic attempt at a mobile phone of it's kind, like silver refined in a furnace. It has also been the most used and most successful phone ever in the entire world, giving more credence to the fact that this phone has been specially designed and blessed.
"I have no need for any other phone" said Paul Hudson a Nokia 1611 owner. "When you've found what is perfect, why would you go back to something less perfect?"
So this Christmas check eBay, visit local garage sales, dig through garbage cans, but do all you can to find yourself a Nokia 1611. Your very phone service depends on it.
"I trust my husband's opinion very much" said Wanda Hudson, wife of Paul. "All I can say is that if the Nokia 1611 is good enough for Paul, it's good enough for me."

That was very, very subtle. Usually TBNN is over-the-top, but this is a nice changeup. I'm going to stay tuned to see how many get the joke. I prefer the Geneva brand cell phone, model 1599.
Even though I struggle with all of the funky vocabulary, I still prefer the original Nokia Hebrew and Greek versions.
EE
But the AV has no copyright, so can this product be credited to Nokia?
G.F. McDowell beat me to the punch. Very subtle indeed. It took me a bit to catch on, but the final line about being good enough for Paul opened my eyes. Excellent material once again.
I caught on as soon as I saw the title. Couldn't stop laughing.
I actually forwarded the link to a few fundy friends, just to see if they'd catch the humor.
One of my all-time favorite posts. Well done.
Like Elder Eric, I prefer the old school Greek and Hebrew.. Paul would be disappointed in me.
I had one of those, but NOT EVERY CARRIER recognized their technology, and there is virtually NO ROAMING allowed, so I have it in a drawer collecting dust for now...
I'm not dogmatically insistent upon the 1611 phone per se, but the software that runs it is Receptus, which is the only software in the world that is perfectly free of all defects. Any of those newfangled phones that use other software are ipso facto defective.
Very funny, by the way.
One of the best in a long time. Well done TBNN.
Jeff is correct. None of the new mobile carriers are understand the older digital format. They're not backwards compatible that far back. The format is a classic and is beautiful. However, formats have simply changed since then.
I would disagree with Stephen, however. There were some minor defects discovered. The made the phone based on copies of the drawings that had been mistakenly revised. Nothing with regard to the function of the phone had been compromised, but they discovered earlier copies of the drawings that didn't have those revisions. Those drawings have been used to create new mobile phones that comport well with newer formats and are compatible with the new carriers.
